Best (and Worst) Albums of 2009

November 6, 2009

Now, I’m not hanging up my hat just yet, but I think it’s safe to say the results are in for best albums of the year. While we try to avoid junk here at KJNB, that doesn’t mean we don’t get the occasional doozy, so there’s a ‘5’ for that, too. If you have any death threats you wish to express, you may direct them towards Hope the rest of the year treats you well, Collegeville.

I’m so poor at writing these things…which new albums did I actually listen to this year?…I’m out of the loop.

  3. What about The xx? Definitely one of my favorites. Who doesn’t like lists? Check out my Top 5 Music Countdown every Friday here:

This list is just to sum up the year’s reviews for people that don’t want to slog through them. Metacritic has a substantially broader list of ‘tops’.

BTW, I’m looking for a band that has the repetition of Joy Division, maybe even fewer chord changes, but a comatose atmosphere and tween lyrics, maybe some mumbled duets; just a straight hour of burdened background breakup music from romantic comedies that helps people pretend they’re in love while heavy petting. Oh, *slaps forhead* The XX, of course! Silly me.
