Album Review: Nosaj Thing – Drift
September 1, 2009
Concept: The debut LP for the electronic artist seeks to stay out of the spotlight with ambience and abstraction.
Sound: Although the organ carries most of the melody, there are a fair number of samples tucked away in every song which should intrigue a nonchalant listener. There need to be more heavy, ethereal tracks like Coat Of Arms, and less of the Atari sojourns that can be found on virtually every other track.
Lyrics: Woob woob wob woob. Awoob. Awobawob.
Quick And Dirty: It’s good lounge music, but is it worth money? I’d say this album is a costume for its definitive single. (♦♦♦½)
